Fusion Resources are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor for one of their clients in the Malton area to support and assist their Quantity Surveying department to ensure that the commercial and ccontractual aspects of projects are properly managed and controlled to an efficient manner to meet the demands of the business.
Main Duties (Non Exhaustive)
- Ability to Identify, communicate and quantify commercial risks and opportunities, including preparation and submission of variations/compensation events, extension of time and loss and/or expense claims, including submission of associated notices
- Ability to carry out the re-measurement of quantities in accordance with standard methods and procedures
- Provide assistance, support and guidance on commercial issues and developing a culture of contractual awareness in project teams
- Preparation of interim valuations/ applications for payment including negotiating project final accounts
- Produce internal cost/ value reports
- Administrate subcontractor/supplier accounts, including the monitoring and processing of payments and settlement of final accounts
- Preparation of technical estimates
- Evaluation of hours allowed at tender stage and reconciliation of hours worked within the fabrication process
Experience:
Essential-
- Previous experience in working to and achieving deadlines and set targets
- To have a proven track record of delivering on large scale projects in a Quantity Surveying role
- Self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative to manage their day to day work load
- Experience in commercial management of sub-contractors, valuations and final account negotiations
- Good knowledge of JCT and NEC3 forms of contract
- Ability to use/understand financial reports and final accounts
Desirable-
- Experience of working in a commercial setting
- Experience of working within a Construction environment or setting
- Experience of working with sub-contractors
- Experienced in Structural Steel Sector
- Familiar with Strumis package
