Quality Assurance Technician

The Job

Carrying out the day to day auditing of the site/area (GMP, CCP etc.) and the routine calibration and sampling checks as required by the site Quality Manual.

Main duties:

• Monitoring the quality of product from all lines by patrol and inspection.
• Ensuring that products from all lines are audited daily and any non-conformance is brought to the attention of the shift Supervisor/Manager and record action on the process to be taken to resolve the issue.
• Carrying out all good manufacturing practice(GMP), Critical Control Point(CCP), glass etc. audits as per the schedule.
• Carrying out all sampling plans(product, micro swabbing, etc.) as required.
• Ensuring that Quality Assessments and Taste Panels are taking place to the agreed frequency.
• Ensuring all diligence paperwork is audited and corrective actions are generated as required to prevent reoccurrences of the issues highlighted.
• Checking the quality of products against specification, colour standards and the standard of workmanship.
• Carrying out calibration of food safety equipment(temperature probes, scales) as per the required schedules. Report any faults to the engineering department.
• Monitoring product weights, temperatures and quality standards to the required schedules.
• Ensuring all team members peruse safe working practices and all accident and reporting procedures.
• Ensuring and promoting a culture of high hygiene standards and that all team members maintain it.

Experience/Qualifications Required

• Level 2 Food Safety
• Level 2 HACCP
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good communication and team working skills
• Attention to detail
• Flexible
• With a “Right first time” attitude
• Reliable with good time keeping skills
• Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
• Driving licence and own transport is a must(unless local to Bridlington)

The Pay Rates

£8.50 p/h for the first 12 weeks while on probation/training

£9 p/h after 12 weeks

The Hours

Non rotating shifts available between the following : 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am
