Despatch Supervisor
The Job
Ensuring the smooth running of the despatch function by supervising and assisting the collection and despatch of products according to the despatch schedule whilst ensuring H&S and quality procedures are adhered to. Supervising and develop a multi skilled, multi-disciplined team.
Main Duties:
• To ensure schedules and deadlines are adhered to
• Communicate and implement change
• H&S compliance in accordance with Company policies
• Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stocktakes and audits to verify results and investigate discrepancies
• Ensure that orders are picked and collated accurately for onward distribution through the supply chain ensuring all documentation is completed accurately
• Control of all pallets and other consumables as required
• Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour
• Establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service
• Supervision of all staff under direct control
• Administration duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved
• All resources are utilised efficiently
• Stand in for the Manager as and when required
• Plan and coordinate labour as required
• Coordinate deliveries with carriers to ensure KPI’s are achieved
• Train and monitor staff in standard operating procedures and safe working practices
• Continuously monitor performance and activities of the warehouse through the use of KPI’s with a primary focus on cost control
• Involvement in the risk assessment process to reduce the risk to H&S in your area
• Ensure that all personnel pursue safe working practices
Experience/Qualifications Required
• A working knowledge of GMP and HACCP
• Level 3 food hygiene
• Motivator
• Flexible approach to working
• An ability to problem solve
• Effective communicator, approachable and diligent
• Interpersonal skills – building relationships, sensitivity
• Expertise – knowledgeable, experienced, up to date
• FLT licences – Reach and Counterbalance
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads
• Able to work flexible hours
• Reliability and good timekeeping
• Ability to communicate at all levels of business
The Pay Rates
£10.32 p/h
The Hours
2 positions available –
1 x 2pm-10pm
1 x 10pm-6am
