Accounts and Finance Manager

Key duties will include:

Management accounts and reporting

Preparation of management accounts, balance sheet, cashflow statement and finance reports within agreed timescales.

Maintain the fixed assets register.

Liaise closely with budget owners to provide a comprehensive accounting support service, including the provision of financial information, analysis to budget owners and review of business cases.

Analyse variances and explore potential problems with budget owners, making recommendations and executing those recommendations.

Provide proactive financial advice to the Executive team and budget owners, actively promoting improved financial awareness.

Carry out any necessary research, analysing and concluding on the information.

Evaluate the effectiveness of the management accounting service provided to budget owners, make recommendations and document ways of developing and improving the quality and timeliness of management information.

Implement and document ways of developing the management accounting and reporting systems.

Participate in all reviews of organisational financial performance.

Provide financial support for the trading company of the charity.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports for budget owners.

Set up, manage and maintain branch reporting.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential

• An experienced and qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
• First-class skills in using Xero (or equivalent) cloud-based accounting software, and Excel
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Commercial Acumen, with previous experience working with cost and margin analysis and subcontractors

Desirable

• Previous experience in a SME / Start-Up
• Experience in the trades/construction/renewables industry
• Experience of supervising and motivating others
