We are looking for an AAT level 4 qualified accounts senior to work as part of our Durham audit and accounts team. The role involves preparing accounts for a portfolio of some of the most innovative and exciting clients across our region including limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders from a variety of sectors including education, retail, manufacturing, and charities.

The main tasks and responsibilities of the role include:
- Preparation of accounts from a variety of client’s systems – Sage, Xero, QuickBooks etc
- Preparation of corporation tax computations
- Actioning queries raised by accounts and tax managers on the drafts accounts and tax computations
- Finalisation of the accounts and corporation tax computations following client meetings
- Acting as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queries
- Providing training, guidance, and support to members of the team as required
- Make suggestions for updating and improving the department and the firm’s systems and processes
- Attending clients’ premises predominately across the North-East as required
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience of owner-managed small to medium business accounts preparation including statutory financial statements
- Recent general practice background, with exposure to accounts and/or tax
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Proven experience of delivering excellent client service
- Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities
- Have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone and by email
- Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel
- The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail
- Be able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problems
