Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Stores Person to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities. The Stores Person will play a vital part in maintaining efficient stock control, supporting shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock levels using warehouse management system (WMS) and ensure accurate inventory records.
• Load and unload goods using forklift trucks and manual handling techniques, adhering to safety protocols.
• Pick and pack orders efficiently for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and liaising with transport providers.
• Stock shelves, organise storage areas, and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Operate mechanical equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper maintenance and safety checks are performed regularly.
• Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting tasks, to prevent damage or injury.
• Support stock rotation procedures and participate in stocktaking activities.
• Utilise AS400 systems for data entry, inventory updates, and order processing as required.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse workflows and improve operational efficiency.

Skills

• Must have some warehouse experience
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software is highly desirable.
• Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and manual dexterity.
• Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is advantageous for equipment maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and external partners effectively.
